Aaron Macri is an Edmonton-based composer and sound designer.
Aaron composed songs and music for the Dora Award-winning Musical Comedy BoyGroove. He also scored the music for Bash’d, the gay rap opera that won a GLAAD media award in 2008. Aaron has created other notable sound designs for dance (Scythe, Dammitdance 2008), regional theatre (True Love Lies, Citadel 2011) and collective creations (Apocalypse Prairie, Azimuth Theatre, 2012).
In 2009, Aaron began working in television, composing for the nationally-broadcast sketch TV show CAUTION: May Contain Nuts (APTN). He was nominated twice for an AMPIA award for his work on the first and third seasons. In 2012 he composed music for the feature length Truckstop Bloodsuckers (Bite TV) and the sketch TV show, Tiny Plastic Men (Super Channel). Both of which he was AMPIA nominated for best original score. 2013-15He finished music for the second and third seasons of Tiny Plastic Men and is about to begin work on new comedy Delmer & Marta.
